Paula
Paula has been working with Dr. Yam since 1999 and is our Treatment Coordinator. She oversees all your financial, insurance, and treatment planning needs. She grew up in Newmarket and has been a resident of the area her whole life.
Paula graduated from the University of Toronto in 2001 with a degree in English Literature and when not at the office, she enjoys time spent knitting, skiing, doing photography, and is an award-winning writer! She is an active member of the Newmarket Creative Commons and is always furthering her knowledge through online university courses.
The most rewarding part of her job at Yam Dental is being able to guide patients successfully through all kinds of treatments and experiencing the happiness of people who have had their smiles improved by Dr. Yam.
Stephany
Stephany joined our team in 2008 after graduating from Everest College as a Certified Dental Assistant. While she mainly works at the front desk as our Accounts Coordinator, she also helps out with assisting the dentists and taking impressions. The most rewarding part of her job is the patient relationships made and maintained throughout the years.
Stephany grew up in Bradford and is fluent in Portuguese. As an active member of the Ontario Dental Assistants Association, Stephany takes continuing education courses to keep her knowledge current regarding different parts of dentistry. In her free time, Stephany enjoys spending time with her son, going for walks, and travel.
Lesley
Lesley joined our office in 2011 as our patient/insurance liaison. She works hard to be able to answer all your questions regarding your treatment plan, insurance, or billing. She diligently checks before every one of your appointments to make sure that coverage is available and quotes have been done. The most rewarding part of her job is guiding patients through any measure of difficulty regarding coverage and seeing these difficulties resolved with minimal patient involvement. Lesley always tries to make visits smooth and enjoyable. Lesley has a background in the sciences, including an Honours BSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Guelph. She is certified in First Aid and CPR.
When not at work, Lesley spends time with family and friends, enjoys knitting, and Dr. Who.
Kaycha
Kaycha is a very versatile Certified Dental Assistant who has been with us since 2012. She works at both assisting the , and as our care manager at the front desk, so you can see her helping all over the office! Through her friendly and cheerful demeanor, she strives to make every patient’s experience at the office as pleasant as possible.
Kaycha has a special interest in the surgical aspect of dentistry and can explain and guide you through any kind of surgical procedure such as grafting or wisdom teeth extractions.
When she’s not busy at the office, Kaycha enjoys shopping, make-up, and spending time with her pets, family, and friends.
Anita
Anita has been with our office since the beginning. She joined the team in 1989 after graduating from the University of Toronto. She helps patients with their booking, billing, appointment needs and oversees all the office administration. Anita thrives on making sure our office is well organized so that we can deliver the best possible dental care.
Born in Hong Kong, she moved to Toronto in 1985 but now lives in Richmond Hill. Anita speaks fluent Cantonese. When she is not working in the office, Anita helps with organizing events and fundraisers at her children’s school, as well as spending time with her family and her dog Ruby
Helen C
Helen comes all the way from Hong Kong to join us as our newest administrator at Yam Dental. She brings with her, over 10 year experience in the dental field, and fluency in both Cantonese and Mandarin.
Helen enjoys spending time with her son and her dogs, and loves travel and shopping.
